Catalysts

NexTech offers a variety of custom catalysts and develops catalyst synthesis and manufacturing processes to meet the needs of our development partners.

Our synthesis capabilities include:

  • production of multi-component nanoscale oxides, particularly cerium and zirconium oxides,

  • optimized incorporation of catalytically active metals,

  • catalyst packaging (e.g., pellets, monoliths, foams, etc.)

  • pilot-scale production of catalysts and components

Our catalyst design and testing capabilities include:

  • catalyst physical characterization (surface area analysis, PSD, chemisorption, TPR/TPO, GC, MS, XPS)

  • reaction kinetics testing

  • testing with liquid fuels

  • testing with sulfur bearing fuels

  • modeling and lifetime studies

Catalysts we have developed include:

  • high performance, non-pyrophoric water-gas-shift (WGS) catalysts.

  • sulfur resistant WGS and fuel reforming catalysts.

  • ethanol and E85 reforming catalysts

  • DoD logistic fuels (JP-8 and JP-10) reforming catalysts.

  • non-precious metal reforming catalysts for reforming and tar clean-up in biomass gasification processes.
